In this ad, obviously tailored for voters in and around the Chicago suburb of Gary, in Northern Indiana, Barack Obama indicates he grew up in a poor home with a single mother, but was instilled with inspiration by her and his grandparents. He says he has a history fighting for laid-off workers and says his own story "wouldn't be possible if it weren't for The American Dream."
